The Alexander McQueen Scholarship University of the Arts – University of the Arts London is pleased to offer a number of scholarships to those wishing to study at postgraduate level.

These awards are funded by generous private donations, company donations, philanthropic charities and University funds. The scholarships range from fee waivers to full support for a year or more. Please see the individual awards for details of application procedures and application forms.

The Alexander McQueen Scholarship

The Alexander McQueen Scholarship is worth £22,500 and is available to one Home/EU student accepted on the MA Fashion course at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.

Applications now open for 2015/16 entry. Closing date: 1pm on Friday 31 July 2015

Alexander McQueen, one of Britain’s most successful designers, enrolled at Central Saint Martins, and received his MA in Fashion Design in 1992. The collection he produced as the culminating project of his degree was famously bought in its entirety.  He earned the British Fashion Council’s British Designer of the Year award four times, and was named Commander of the Order of the British Empire.  His bold styles and fascinating shows inspired and wowed the world of fashion, and his legacy lives on.

The award will cover full tuition fees, with a contribution towards living costs and the final collection.

 Applications are encouraged from Home/ EU students only who will benefit from postgraduate studies to realise their full potential and who are unable to finance themselves through their studies.

To be eligible for The Alexander McQueen Scholarship students must be:

  • Considered Home/EU for fee purposes
  • Accepted on the MA Fashion course at Central Saint Martins, commencing October 2015
  • A graduate, having already gained a first or 2:1 in a Bachelors Degree from a Higher Education institution, or an HE accredited Further Education institution


  • (for applicants without a bachelor’s degree) Able to demonstrate substantial equivalent and applicable experience
